Escape to Hardings Paddock Campground, a serene bushland retreat just minutes from Ipswich, offering secluded campsites, cultural experiences, and outdoor adventures within the stunning Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate.
Just 20 minutes from Ipswich Central and 45 minutes from Brisbane, Hardings Paddock Campground is an ideal weekend escape for families. Surrounded by lush bushland, the site offers just eight campsites, ensuring a peaceful and secluded atmosphere. The campground accommodates tents, motorhomes, and caravans. While unpowered, it provides access to essential facilities such as camp toilets, a kitchen with barbecues, and shower cubicles—don’t forget to bring your own shower bags and portable water. For horse lovers, there’s a holding yard with water, allowing you to bring your horse and explore the riding trails.
The campground also highlights cultural and educational features, including a permanent Kupmurri cooking area, an Aboriginal Totem walk, a yarning circle, and a bush tucker trail, which promote cultural practice and knowledge-sharing.
Spanning 2,250 hectares in the Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate, Hardings Paddock offers numerous activities such as birdwatching, hiking, orienteering, and mountain biking. Be sure to bring plenty of drinking water, along with your compass and bike, to make the most of your adventure.
Access to the camping area is secure, with the gates locked at all times. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a camping permit or confirmation, including a combination code for entry. The code is updated regularly for security purposes.
Please note that alcohol is only permitted within the campground. For detailed rules, trail updates, and downloadable trail guides, visit the Ipswich City Council website and refer to their Campground License and Alcohol Consumption and Sale in Public Places Policy.
Camp Site
The campground features eight sites, suitable for camping, caravans, or motorhomes, with a maximum stay of seven consecutive nights. Please note that the campground is unpowered, so you’ll need to bring your own drinking and shower water.
As the campground is located within a conservation estate, open fires and dogs are not permitted. A communal fire pit is available for use, but you must bring your own firewood, as collecting wood from the area is prohibited. Be sure to check and adhere to any current fire restrictions during your stay.
