Escape to Gumridge, a serene 15-acre bushland retreat in Rathdowney, Queensland, offering breathtaking mountain views and a rustic camping experience for tents, camper trailers, and caravans.
Gumridge is a 15-acre elevated bushland property located in Rathdowney, Queensland, offering a natural escape for campers with space for around 15 tents, camper trailers, or caravans. While the site is accessible by most vehicles, a 2 km gravel road, maintained by the council, could be challenging for front-wheel-drive vehicles towing large trailers, especially in wet conditions.
Although the campsite doesn’t offer any amenities, it more than makes up for it with breathtaking views. At 300 metres above sea level, campers can enjoy spectacular vistas of the Queensland/New South Wales border, with Mt. Maroon, Mt. Barney, and Mt. Lindsay in the distance. For those keen to explore the area, Mt. Maroon and Mt. Barney offer walking trails, while Lake Moogerah and Maroon Dam nearby provide opportunities for jetskiing, kayaking, and swimming. Additionally, there are several eateries within a 25-minute drive.
Gumridge is dog-friendly, making it a great option for campers with pets. For more details about local attractions and activities, the Scenic Rim website provides further information.
