Experience the serene beauty of Kamarun Lookout Rainforest Campsite, where you can enjoy breathtaking views, abundant wildlife, and total privacy, all nestled in the cool, lush surroundings of Lamington National Park.
The Kamarun Lookout Rainforest Campsite offers a quarter-acre of land, perfect for camping, just a short walk from the breathtaking Kamarun Lookout. On clear days, the lookout provides stunning views of Brisbane and the Q1 building, and it’s an excellent spot for stargazing at night. Visitors often encounter wallabies and pademelons in the area.
This campsite is situated atop a mountain, over 900 metres above sea level, where the temperature is typically 7 degrees cooler than at the coast. The land is a mix of rainforest and cleared areas, surrounded by the Gondwana rainforests of Lamington National Park. O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat is only a 15-minute drive away, where you can feed crimson rosellas and king parrots, enjoy Lamington’s famous treetop walk, and hike to various lookouts and waterfalls. It’s also an ideal spot for birdwatching.
A 4×4 vehicle is recommended due to the steep and somewhat overgrown driveway. Please note that campfires are not allowed unless you bring your own portable fire pit. Campers must be self-contained as there is no access to water or toilets. You’ll have the entire campsite to yourself, with no other campers around.
