Kingsland Camping offers a serene escape in the Scenic Rim, surrounded by National Park, perfect for adventurers seeking nearby hiking trails, stunning views, and easy access to Lake Moogerah and Maroon Dam for water activities.
Kingsland Camping is the ideal base for a Mt. Maroon climb, set on a scenic 64-hectare property encircled by National Park. Located at 356 Cotswold Road, Maroon, Queensland, this area is nestled in the heart of the Scenic Rim, offering ample opportunities for exploration. Lake Moogerah and Maroon Dam are nearby, perfect for water activities such as jet skiing, kayaking, and swimming.
For those not up for the Mt. Maroon trek—which can take three to five hours—easier walks in the area provide a relaxed way to enjoy the outdoors. Kingsland Camping is family-friendly and offers gentle terrain suitable for first-time campers, allowing guests to wake up to serene, picturesque views.
Due to the presence of koalas and surrounding National Parks, dogs are not permitted on the property. Campfires are allowed, provided there are no restrictions, though guests should check fire conditions in advance. During bans, cooking with contained cookers is typically allowed, and guests should bring their own gas BBQ.
Note that there are no shower facilities or drinkable water on-site, so campers need to bring their own supplies and are encouraged to leave no trace.
