Mount Barney Lodge

Mount Barney Lodge is nestled in a stunning valley with picturesque creek frontage.

Located in the heart of the Scenic Rim, the Lodge is positioned next to the World Heritage-listed Mount Barney National Park. It offers a range of accommodation options, including charming Queenslander homesteads, rustic cabins, deluxe camper trailers for glamping, hybrid caravans, and a camping ground along the creek.

The camping ground provides excellent facilities, such as unpowered, shady, grassed sites with spectacular mountain views, a modern tiled amenities block with hot and cold running water, open fireplaces, and a shelter shed.

Families with children are warmly welcomed at Mount Barney Lodge.

The Lodge partners with “Yarriba” to deliver onsite Indigenous experiences, including half-day, full-day, and three-day immersion tours that connect visitors with the land, stories, and traditional knowledge.

Group bookings are also supported, making the Lodge an ideal venue for weddings, conferences, camper trailers, and motorhomes. For corporate groups, the unique “Corporate Campout” package offers a luxury outdoor experience tailored for team-building and relaxation.

Mount Barney Lodge is a Nature Play accredited activity provider, offering adventure experiences led by qualified Outdoor Leaders. Activities include the Kid’s Night Adventure, Bushtucker Tracker, Bush Kids programs, and the ‘Light Your Fire’ workshop.

For those seeking more thrills, the Lodge provides rock climbing, abseiling, guided hikes, and mountain expeditions. Guests can also enjoy swimming, hiking, and bushwalking, with a nearby waterhole and trails easily accessible from the property.

This family-run business is managed by owners Innes and Tracey Larkin, who live onsite and personally host their guests, ensuring a welcoming and memorable stay.

Cabins

For a rustic retreat, Foresters Hut and Henry’s Hut offer the perfect escape to the simplicity of country living. These self-contained cabins include fully equipped kitchens and are set amidst tranquil rural surroundings. Traditional colonial verandas open onto breathtaking views of Mount Barney, showcasing its ever-changing moods. Enjoy the warmth of a wood fire during cooler evenings. Note that external shared bathroom facilities are provided, and guests need to bring their own linen.

Queenslander Homesteads

For a memorable getaway, the Lodge features two charming Queenslander homesteads: Moringararah, an original farmhouse, and Boolamoola, a grand, traditional Queenslander. These homes offer exclusive use of the entire house, providing a true home-away-from-home experience. Guests can bring their own linen and food or arrange for provisions through the Lodge.

Disconnect from the digital world as there are no televisions, phones, or computers. Spend chilly evenings by the potbelly stove, and wake up to the delightful sound of birdsong. Enjoy your morning coffee or breakfast on the veranda while taking in the spectacular mountain views.

Mountain View Camper Trailers

Experience the joy of camping without the effort in a deluxe glamping camper trailer. Perfect for couples or small families, these trailers provide a queen-sized bed on a raised platform, two single camp beds, and a private campfire area. Both trailers boast stunning views of Mount Barney and are within easy reach of the creek and waterhole.

Under the covered annex, your glamping setup includes a gas stove, sink, tables and chairs, cutlery, crockery, and essential cooking utensils. Shared toilet and shower facilities are available. Guests should bring their own esky and linen.

Camping Ground

For those seeking a more traditional camping experience, Mount Barney Lodge’s camping ground is the closest to the World Heritage-listed Mount Barney National Park. This prime location offers direct access to scenic walks, waterholes, and the natural beauty of the park. Facilities include shady, grassed campsites, full creek frontage with waterholes, a modern tiled amenities block, and a fully serviced campground.

Deluxe Hybrid Caravans

For a luxurious touch, the Lodge offers fully self-contained hybrid caravans tucked away in private settings. Each caravan includes a king-size bed with linen, a private bathroom, a kitchenette, a Weber BBQ, and a personal brazier. All you need to bring are your clothes and food for a truly effortless and comfortable stay.
