Bribie Island Butterfly House

Step into a magical world of fluttering butterflies! Between 700 and 1000 butterflies thrive in an open-air sanctuary, enjoying the freedom to fly, feed, mate, lay eggs, and go through their enchanting lifecycle, all of which you can witness intimately.

In the butterfly breeding lab’s viewing area, watch as volunteers meticulously care for eggs and chrysalises and feed the voracious caterpillars.

Stroll through the tunnel and view a brief video that illustrates the lifecycle of a Monarch butterfly, then step out into the enchanting, bloom-laden butterfly sanctuary where hundreds of butterflies take flight daily.

Tip: Dress in bright colours and keep your camera at the ready for when a butterfly perches on you.

Bribie Island Butterfly House is a non-profit organisation run entirely by a dedicated community of volunteers who share their expertise on attracting butterflies and their upkeep.

The Butterfly House on Bribie Island operates solely through the efforts of volunteers and donates all excess funds to charitable causes.
