Dive into the hidden depths of Henderson Rock, where vibrant marine life, mysterious caves, and rare sharks await just off Moreton Island’s untouched eastern coast.
Henderson Rock, located on the eastern side of Moreton Island, is one of Brisbane’s more impressive yet lesser-known dive spots. Featuring an array of deep ledges, overhangs and caves tucked behind swaying kelp, this intriguing site holds countless hidden wonders waiting to be explored.
Keep an eye out for the ornate crayfish, which are abundant in the area, along with grey nurse sharks that tend to gather in the main gutter during the winter months. Reef fish weave through the kelp, while other shark species—such as brown-banded catsharks and wobbegongs—are also regular visitors to this vibrant underwater habitat.
