Experience the magic of hand feeding wild dolphins at sunset with exclusive beachfront accommodation at Tangalooma Island Resort, where nature meets adventure.
A visit to Tangalooma wouldn’t be complete without the unforgettable experience of hand feeding one of the wild bottlenose dolphins that arrive at the shore each evening at sunset.
Moreton Bay is home to around 600 bottlenose dolphins, and as the sun dips below the horizon, a small pod makes its way to the beach at Tangalooma Island Resort.
Since 1992, resort guests have had the chance to hand feed these incredible animals as part of the Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Feeding Program. Today, up to 13 dolphins regularly visit the shore, where they can be seen hunting, surfing and playing together — each with their own unique personality. The dedicated Dolphin Care Team is on hand each evening to monitor and record the dolphins’ behaviour, tracking their growth, health and social interactions.
The Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Feeding Experience is included in selected accommodation and day cruise packages from Brisbane.
Please note: only official resort guests are eligible to participate in the dolphin feeding program.
